Getting a ride should work for everyone. PickYou aims to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA and treats accessibility barriers as defects, not feature requests.
What the app provides today
- A larger-text mode and a high-contrast surface mode, available from every portal.
- Full keyboard operation with visible focus, and controls sized for comfortable touch use.
- Labelled form fields, headings and landmarks so screen readers can navigate each portal.
- Layouts that respect device text-size settings and reduced-motion preferences.
- Address entry that still works by typing when map suggestions are unavailable.
Accessible vehicles
Vehicles registered on PickYou record whether they are wheelchair accessible, and operators are responsible for keeping that information accurate. Where a market requires a minimum proportion of accessible vehicles, PickYou enforces that requirement as part of operator readiness.
Known limitations
Live map views convey position visually; the same ride status is always available as text. We are continuing to improve screen-reader announcements for status changes during a ride.
Report a barrier
If something prevents you from using PickYou, contact accessibility@pickyou.ca with the page and what happened. We acknowledge reports within 5 business days and will tell you what we intend to do about it.
