Terms of Service

This document is published in English, the approved source version. Translations are provided for convenience only; if a reviewed translation is unavailable the English text governs.
These terms govern use of the PickYou dispatch platform by riders, drivers and licensed taxi operators. By creating an account or accepting a ride through PickYou, you agree to them.
What PickYou is
PickYou Technologies Inc. provides dispatch technology. PickYou is not a taxi company and does not own vehicles or employ drivers. Transportation is provided by independent licensed operators and their drivers, who are solely responsible for the ride itself, their vehicles, insurance and compliance with local licensing requirements.
Accounts
- You must provide accurate information and keep your sign-in credentials confidential.
- Rider, driver, operator and administrator access is granted by PickYou; roles cannot be self-assigned.
- You are responsible for activity carried out under your account.
Rides
A ride request is an offer. It becomes a booking only once an operator claims it and a driver accepts. Ride status moves forward only — requested, assigned, accepted, arrived, onboard, completed — and a completed or cancelled ride is final. The ride record and its audit history cannot be edited after completion.
Service availability
PickYou does not guarantee that a driver, vehicle or operator will be available at any particular time or place. Availability depends on the independent operators participating in your area, and a ride request may go unclaimed. PickYou does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the platform, and service may be limited by coverage area, weather, connectivity or operator capacity.
Emergencies
PickYou is not an emergency service. The platform must not be relied on to summon police, fire or medical assistance. In an emergency, call 911.
Fares and platform fee
Fares are set and collected by the operator in accordance with the rates permitted in their licensed jurisdiction. PickYou charges the operator a platform fee of 12% of the fare, and that fee applies only to completed rides. The fee rate applied to a ride is locked at the moment of completion and does not change afterwards. Cancelled rides carry no platform fee.
Payments and refunds
Where card payment is offered, payments are processed by Stripe. Card details are entered directly into Stripe’s own secure payment form; PickYou does not receive or store complete card numbers. Where an operator supports cash, the fare is settled directly with the driver and PickYou records the outcome only.
- A payment is treated as final only once PickYou receives confirmation from the payment processor. A message on your screen is not by itself proof of payment.
- Refunds are issued by PickYou or the operator against the recorded payment for a ride, and can never exceed the amount actually collected for that ride.
- Where a refund is issued, the PickYou platform fee for that ride is reduced in proportion to the amount refunded.
- Fare disputes are raised through the app and assessed against the ride's audit history.
Acceptable use
- Do not use PickYou for any unlawful purpose, or to harass, threaten or endanger a driver, rider or member of the public.
- Do not submit false ride requests, false identity, false compliance information or fraudulent payment details.
- Do not attempt to bypass access controls, scrape or extract data belonging to other users, or interfere with the platform's operation or security.
- Do not resell, sublicense or re-badge PickYou dispatch access without written agreement.
Suspension and termination
PickYou may suspend or terminate access to an account where these terms are breached, where required by law or a regulator, where an operator or driver no longer meets local licensing or insurance requirements, or where continued access presents a safety or fraud risk. You may close your rider account at any time through the delete-your-account page. Records that must be retained as business, tax, safety or transport records are kept after closure as described in the Privacy Policy.
Intellectual property
The PickYou platform, its software, brand, name and logo belong to PickYou Technologies Inc. Using PickYou grants you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive right to use the application for its intended purpose. It grants no right to copy, modify, reverse engineer, redistribute or create derivative works from the platform, or to use PickYou branding without written permission. Content you submit remains yours; you grant PickYou the right to use it as needed to operate the service.
Privacy
Personal information handled through PickYou is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. Text-message consent is governed separately by our SMS Opt-In Policy.
Cancellations and conduct
- A rider may cancel before the ride is onboard.
- A driver may decline an assignment, in which case the operator reassigns the ride.
- Abusive, unsafe or fraudulent behaviour may result in suspension of access.
Disputes
Fare or service disputes are raised through the app and reviewed against the ride's audit history. Because that history is append-only, both parties are assessed on the same record.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, PickYou's liability is limited to the platform fees it received for the ride in question. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable Canadian law.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms and will change the date at the top of this page when we do. Questions: help@pickyou.ca.
